A warm nose of vanilla and
dried raspberries soothes
the senses upon first impression. This Cabernet Sauvignon is serious on the palate, presenting a full-bodied, supple mouth feel. A plush blackberry note enters the palate first, followed by hints of dark chocolate and brought together by balanced textural tannins. This leads to a lasting, smooth finish that lingers and comforts.
Pair with a ribeye, lamb chops
or a dark chocolate mousse to
finish off date night.

Ryan’s maternal side of the family, the McChristians, were some of the first settlers in California, specifically in the Napa Valley in 1845.
Patrick McChristian (Great, great, great, great grandfather) immigrated from County Down, Northern Ireland to Rochester New York in the early 1840s due to war and famine. He was only fifteen years old at the time. In 1845, Patrick (accompanied by his wife and kids) headed west with Captain Grigsby Ide’s party. Forty-one covered wagons and about fifty people successfully crossed the plains and then the Sierra’s by way of the South Pass.
The McChristians settled at George Yount’s ranch in Napa Valley (now known as Yountville). George Yount was the first American settler in the Napa Valley. Patrick McChristian started his life in California working for Mr. Yount at the ranch. He then went on to play a significant role in Sonoma’s Bear Flag Revolt and became one of the official Thirty-three Bear Flaggers – creating what is known today as the California Republic.
PATRICK McCHRISTIAN
Patrick McChristian, accompanied by Jacob P Lease, Jasper O’Farrell, and Sam Morris, set out on a quest for gold and became the first people to mine for gold in the Yuba River.
Shortly after their pursuit, the banks of the auriferous Yuba were lined with men who had come in search of gold — but not before McChristian and party could STAKE THEIR CLAIM.
In about three months total, the party of McChristian had dug out $75,000 in gold. (roughly 2.8 million today)
To STAKE YOUR CLAIM is the mission we take here at Ryan Darrall Wine. To have no fear, and to go after what is yours. As we continue to grow and progress, my goal is to embody the spirit of my ancestors, and STAKE OUR CLAIM in the Suisun Valley.
